Navigating Faith and Testimonies in the Era of #Iamachosen

    0

Those testimonies? Exaggerated, funny, or maybe even false—the accent alone cracked me up. The context is controversial, honestly. I don’t really read the Bible like that, but they say the foolishness of God is the kinikan kinikan of man. I think it’s wisdom 🤔. I catch cruise a lot 😂, but this particular trend? I don’t know why I’m so indifferent about it.

Brethren, let me reduce your IQ a bit. What if—just imagine—some of these testimonies weren’t formulated? I grew up reading cartoon Bible stories and learning about exciting miracles. Even now, I still ponder them with awe. Realistically, most biblical miracles sound unbelievable. Raising Lazarus from the dead? Parting the Red Sea? Turning water into wine? Multiplying loaves of bread and fish to feed multitudes? Sounds like fiction! Yet, we worship and respect the invisible God. Why? Because His wonders are evident in our lives. “He dey always show workings.”

Here’s the thing: the way God works is a mystery. Who He is and where His power comes from will remain a mystery. Christians aren’t comic figures, so why mock those who believe in miracles? The Chosen members are part of us. Mocking them is like mocking our faith. The irony is that believers are the ones championing the #Iamachosen trend, but they won’t keep the same energy when it comes to their celebrity pastors’ churches. We all know what we’re doing. Double standards, anyone?

I believe in the supernatural. I believe in a miracle-working God. And yes, I believe miracles exist, even the ones that sound like lies gan gan gan.

Wait, before you crucify me, let’s be clear: I don’t know if these testimonies are true or not—I wasn’t there. But as long as the brother in the lemon apron wasn’t killed in that robbery, glory be to God. It’s his testimony, not mine, not ours. So, why the outrage?

I would’ve added some end-time hints to this post, but I’m scared. The world must not end now ooo 😅. This delusion is soothing, please.

In Their Shoes: The Journey of Tawose Babatunde TeeMillz

    0
    Entertainment

From the heart of Ondo State, Nigeria, comes a story of resilience, passion, and transformation. Tawose Babatunde TeeMillz, the youngest of four siblings, has risen above life’s challenges to carve a niche for himself in the entertainment industry. His story serves as a testament to the power of perseverance and the determination to follow one’s true calling. In this edition of “In Their Shoes,” we take an intimate look into the life of Tawose, exploring the experiences that have shaped him and the lessons he’s learned along the way.

    A Unique Childhood

Tawose’s early life was anything but typical. Growing up in Ondo State, he was exposed to the rough streets, witnessing both the harsh realities and the vibrant culture around him. These experiences played a pivotal role in shaping his character and instilling in him the resilience needed to navigate life’s challenges.

“My childhood was unique,” Tawose reflects. “I was exposed to a lot on the streets, but those experiences moulded me into the person I am today.”

    Music as a Turning Point

For Tawose, music became a beacon of hope. Recording his first song was a life-changing moment that ignited a deep passion within him. However, as time went on, he realized that his true talents lay not in performing, but in managing and organizing within the entertainment industry.

“My first song was the turning point,” he recalls. “It opened my eyes to the world of entertainment, but I later realized that singing wasn’t my path. Entertainment as a whole is where my heart lies.”

    Tawose Babatunde TeeMillz

    A Traumatic Past

One of the most difficult moments in Tawose’s life occurred when he was just 10 years old. He was sexually assaulted by a woman much older than him, an experience that has continued to affect his outlook on life.

“It’s something I’ll never forget,” Tawose shares quietly. “It shaped my mentality, and it’s something I carry with me every day. But it’s also made me stronger and more determined to succeed.”

    From Music to Entertainment PR

Despite his love for music, Tawose eventually shifted his focus to entertainment management. He once pursued a career as a musician but found his true calling behind the scenes as a PR and event organizer. This transition allowed him to combine his passion for entertainment with his natural ability to manage and coordinate events.

“I started as an artist, but I soon realized I had a stronger talent for organizing and managing others in the entertainment space,” he explains. “It was a tough decision, but it’s one that’s led to my growth.”

    Learning from Mistakes

One of the most important lessons Tawose has learned came from a business deal gone wrong. He accepted partial payment for an event and covered the balance himself, only for the artist to arrive late, causing a significant financial loss.

“That experience was a tough lesson,” Tawose admits. “I learned that business transactions need to be handled properly from the start. Full payment upfront, or no deal at all.”

    The Power of Supportive Relationships

Tawose credits much of his success to the positive people around him. He surrounds himself with individuals who believe in him, support his goals, and offer encouragement during difficult times. This strong network has helped him stay grounded while pursuing his career.

“I’m lucky to have people who truly believe in me,” he says. “Their support keeps me going, even when things get tough.”

    Staying Grounded Amidst Self-Doubt

Like many in the entertainment industry, Tawose has faced moments of self-doubt. However, he has found that positivity and surrounding himself with good energy help him stay grounded and focused on his goals.

“I deal with self-doubt by focusing on the positive,” he shares. “I keep good energy around me, and that helps me push through any insecurities.”

    Looking Ahead

As Tawose continues to grow in the entertainment industry, he looks forward to collaborating with A-list entertainers both locally and internationally. His vision for the future is clear, and his dedication to his craft remains unwavering.

“I’m excited about what’s next,” he says with a smile. “Collaborating with top entertainers is something I’m really looking forward to.”

    Advice for Aspiring Creatives

Tawose’s journey is full of lessons, but the one he emphasizes most is the importance of persistence. He believes that passion, when combined with dedication and resilience, can lead to success, even in the face of rejection and failure.

“My advice is simple—never give up on your passion,” he says. “Keep pushing, even when it feels like no one’s listening. Your time will come.”

    Conclusion

Tawose Babatunde’s story is one of resilience, growth, and unwavering belief in oneself. From a childhood filled with challenges to finding his way in the entertainment industry, he has learned to turn obstacles into opportunities. His journey reminds us that success is not a destination, but a continuous process of learning, evolving, and staying true to one’s passion.

As we walk in Tawose Babatunde’s shoes, we are reminded that every challenge we face can be an opportunity for growth, and with determination, we can carve out our path, no matter the odds.

TASUED Students’ Union Welfare Director Responds to Suspension: Defends Commitment to Students

    0

In response to his suspension, Ismail Abass Adisa, the Welfare Director of the Tai Solarin University of Education (TASUED) Students’ Union, has formally addressed the Student Union Senate. His suspension, along with several other executives, was announced during the recent parliamentary meetings. Abass, however, has pushed back, offering a defense of his dedication and highlighting the reasons for his absence.

In his formal response, Abass emphasized that his suspension resulted from missing one parliamentary sitting, marking the first time he had been absent since assuming office. He stressed that his commitment to the welfare of TASUED students has been unwavering and consistent, refuting any suggestion that his absence was due to negligence.

Abass explained that the decision to miss the sitting was influenced by his dissatisfaction with certain acts within the current administration. According to him, he feared that these issues might have compromised his ability to represent the genuine concerns of the students, which he has always prioritized.

He clarified that his absence was not an indication of a lack of dedication but rather a stand taken due to concerns about potential suppression of student voices during the meeting. Abass reiterated his commitment to advocating for the welfare of TASUED students and reassured his constituents that the suspension does not diminish his passion for student unionism.

Abass concluded by affirming his determination to continue fighting for the best interests of all students, expressing hope that his commitment to their welfare will be recognized and respected despite this temporary setback.

As the saga within the TASUED Students’ Union continues to unfold, responses like Abass’s highlight the internal struggles facing the administration and offer insight into the challenges of student leadership. The union remains in a state of uncertainty, as more executives prepare to face the in-house disciplinary committee to account for their actions.

This response brings a new perspective to the ongoing story, leaving many students wondering how the leadership crisis within the union will evolve.

Rema Reflects on His Impact in Afrobeats: “I’m One of the OGs Now”

    0

In a recent episode of the Breakfast Club Podcast, Rema, one of Afrobeats’ fastest-rising stars, shared his thoughts on his growing influence and impact on the genre. With confidence, he addressed his role in the Afrobeats movement and what it means to be considered a legend in the game.

“Respect to the OGs, But I’m One of Them Now”

During the interview, Rema made a bold statement, asserting his place among the OGs in Afrobeats. He emphasized that his impact goes beyond having hit songs, noting:

“Respect to the OG’s, but I’m one of them now, and if you look at it, my impact on Afrobeats has been huge. It’s not just about having hit songs—plenty of people have those—it’s about the impact.”

The success of Rema’s 2022 global hit “Calm Down” has not only skyrocketed his career but also influenced the larger music industry. According to him, it was the success of this track that led major awards like the Grammys to introduce an Afrobeats category at the 66th Annual Grammy Awards. This monumental shift in global recognition of Afrobeats culminated in Tyla winning the inaugural Best Afrobeats Performance award with her song “Water.”

    “Times Have Changed”

Rema further expressed that being recognized as a legend or an icon no longer requires age. He reflected on how the music industry has evolved, allowing young artists like himself to achieve legendary status based on their contributions. In his words:

“I don’t like to brag about it. I don’t put my plaque in the house to feel myself with that ego. Times have changed, you don’t need to be old before you can be a legend or an icon that inspires the next generation. Must I be 30 years old before you could give me that flower?”

    Global Impact of Afrobeats

From performing in arenas across three cities in India to having crowds sing Afrobeats word for word, Rema’s influence has reached far beyond Nigeria’s borders. He spoke proudly about the doors his success has opened for other Afrobeats artists on the global stage, positioning the genre as a force in world music.

With humility and determination, Rema remains focused on continuing to break barriers without letting ego get in the way of his craft. His message to the world is clear—legendary status isn’t determined by age, but by the impact one leaves behind.

As Rema continues to inspire the next generation, it’s evident that his legacy in Afrobeats is only beginning to take shape.
