Business mogul and Chairman of Rite Foods and one of the benefactors of the University, Alhaji Sulaimon Adebola Adegunwa has reiterated his support for Tai Solarin University of Education, especially, in the area of Vocational Education.
He said this at the sod turning ceremony of the College of Vocational and Technology Education (COVTED) of the University, held at the Ososa Campus of the Institution recently.
Alhaji Adegunwa disclosed that panacea to Nigeria’s economic conundrums and the scourge of unemployment can only be solved through compulsory inclusion of vocational training in the curricula of educational institutions.
The philanthropist commended the Management team of the University for fulfilling the promise to turn the Ososa Campus into a technological hub where experts in various fields of vocational technology would be moulded. “We need TASUED to help us in pushing our vision to reality. By doing this, Nigeria will be a better place for all of us” he noted.
Earlier in his welcome address, the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Abayomi Arigbabu thanked Alhaji Adegunwa for his countless support to the University over the years, with an assurance that the proposed COVTED building is a dream come true.
Foundation of other projects like the Microfinance Bank, the Postgraduate College and the Work Study Building were also laid by the Vice Chancellor, which was part of the activities marking his second year in office.
The Vice Chancellor, who earlier met with the leadership of the Student’s Union for interactive session, also kicked-off a novelty match and volleyball competition to commemorate the occasion.

College of Social and Management Science Students Association (COSMASSA) Parliamentary Council led by Rt.Hon. Francis Gift Samuel the 12th COSMASSA Speaker announced the indefinite suspension of the incumbent COSMASSA president on the 4th of March, 2020 at the emergency session held by the house.
According to the resolution released by COSMASSA Press Secretary, ‘After so many consideration and consultation the house impeached the president of the college (Hon. Komolafe Jamal) Therefore, Com. A veteran actor Afeez Adebimpe Oyetoro popularly known as SAKA, in the Nollywood industry visited and lectured the 300level students of English and Literary Studies at Tai Solarin University of Education, Ijebu-Ode on the 3rd of March, 2020 .
Saka was invited as a resource person to the English and Literary Studies Department by Dr. Adedina who’s an academic, a professional and qualified theatre practitioner, a playwright and a poet who also doubled up as the lecturer-in-charge of a course titled ‘Theatre and Drama in Education’. This course is mandatory for every students in the department in their penultimate level at the university.
The MTN Ambassador (I-DON-PORT-O) was invited to teach and expose the students on how acting is done both on stage and on screen.
While addressing the students, the 57-year old veteran actor disclosed that Dr. Adedina is a good and bosom friend of his and has contributed greatly to his life. He also affirmed that he has been a theatre practitioner for so long and has nothing less than 30years experience in the profession. “In my entire life, I have not done anything outside the theatre.
It was due to struggling and hustling that brought about the name ‘Saka’ which I am identified as on screen into my life”.
He therefore, advised the students not to despise the time of little beginning. He said to become a widely acclaimed actor/actress, it requires talent, time, commitment, dedication among others.
A graduate of Tai Solarin University of Education (TASUED), Ijebu, Ogun state in person of ISREAL PANDONU alumnus from the Creative Art Department emerged OVER ALL WINNER from the over 500 works submitted by Artists across Africa in a competition organized by Goge Africa.

AbdulAzeez AbdulMaleek is a 300level Student’s of Tai Solarin University of Education (TASUED) from the department og English and Literary Studies, College of Humanities (COHUM).
AbdulMaleek emerged as the 8th Regional Director of National Association of Students of English and Literary Studies (NASELS) SouthWest Region.
He said in his manifesto, “The 8th council under my leadership, shall continue to convey and organise Regional Executive Council (REC) meetings that will always serve its purpose. This, I believe will midwife administrative confidence, trust and purposeful governance for our dear region.

a year after leaving secondary school.
Speaking about her early admission and how she feels about
her stature she said, “it feels great and I thank God for the early
admission.
So far, I feel happy with those who are responsible but the
irresponsible ones ask irrelevant questions”
She further stated that despite feeling happy; there are
times when she feels troubled, frustrated, annoyed and angry because of the way
people act around her when they see her.
According to her, “I feel pressurized like I’m special
they don’t make me feel among they make me feel like I’m something that isn’t
worth it”.
she also mentioned how at times lecturers come into the
class and ask her if she should is in a kindergarten class and how old is she;
makes her cry and question God at times as to why he didn’t make her like other
people even though some people tell her that she’s not a dwarf that she was
created like this for a reason.
She says, “when I’m down I talk to God, elderly people or my mum to console me and my mum tells me always to concentrate on my studies and my major aim here which is to make a first-class and I must achieve it!
