Orebamjo Ifatosin Timileyin, popularly known across campus and on social media as “Tomisin – The Trending Mic Girl,” has been honored with her first official award of excellence at the prestigious College of Specialized and Professional Education (COSPED) Social Day Celebration.
The award, presented on Thursday, May 29th, 2025, recognized Tomisin as the Most Popular Fresher of the academic session — a title well-earned due to her growing influence and energetic presence in the student media and entertainment space.
A 100-level student of Educational Technology, Tomisin has risen to prominence in a short time, carving a niche for herself with her unique street-style interviews, bold red-carpet hosting skills, and viral online clips. Her signature presence with a mic in hand, fearless questions, and spontaneous energy have made her a favorite among students and young creatives within and beyond TASUED.

“This means so much to me,” Tomisin told TASUEDFINEST after receiving the award.
“It’s not just an award, it’s a confirmation that people see the work and energy I put in, even as a fresher. I’m super grateful to COSPED and everyone.”
The COSPED Social Day, held annually, celebrates creativity, student excellence, and unity within the faculty. Tomisin’s emergence as the Most Popular Fresher not only highlights her personal journey but also signals a shift in how media-savvy students are gaining recognition in formal academic circles.
As someone who blends entertainment with student representation, Tomisin’s win sets a strong tone for student influencers who are serious about their craft. From classroom learning to social media storytelling, she’s fast becoming a symbol of what it means to balance education, personality, and purpose.
This award marks a significant milestone in what already appears to be a promising career in media and communications for the “Trending Mic Girl” of TASUED.
