TASUED Students Cries Out: Armed Robbers Terrorize Off-Campus Hostels, Injure Female Students

Date:

A wave of fear is sweeping across Tai Solarin University of Education (TASUED) as students, especially those staying off-campus, continue to suffer in silence amid increasing reports of midnight robbery attacks. The affected areas — Ijagun, Imaweje, Abapawa, and Ijele — have become hotspots for these terrifying incidents, with some students allegedly sustaining injuries during the break-ins.

According to multiple reports, these attacks usually happen in the middle of the night, when robbers break into hostels, carting away phones, laptops, money, and other valuables. Female students, in particular, have been left traumatized, with some suffering physical harm during the invasions.

A female student recently took to Instagram to share her frustration and plea for help:

“This robbery issue abeg, where can we make the complaints so it will get to the right source — so they can help us find something to do about it… it’s getting too much o,” she wrote.

The student added that she fears for her safety and urged fellow students to speak up until the right people hear their voices.

The situation has triggered serious concern within the TASUED student community, with many now demanding urgent intervention from the school authorities, local security operatives, community vigilantes, and Ogun State government. They are calling for increased night patrols, better hostel security, and a central channel for reporting attacks.

This is not the first time off-campus insecurity has been raised at TASUED, but students now say it’s at a boiling point.

As of the time of this report, no official statement has been released by TASUED authorities, Studnets Union Representative or law enforcement agencies, but students are hoping that the recent outcry will finally spark swift and lasting action.
