In its drive to be compliant with the best world practices in the teaching and learning of French Language, the Department of French Language of the University was recently linked to the TV5 World Educational Platform.
The Programme trainer, TV5 World Educational, Madame Oluyinka Bello urged participants to take advantage of the modern technology in the learning and teaching of French in schools, adding that the era of using cardboard and other traditional materials as teaching aids is gone, as there are many modern-day teaching aids like audiovisual materials which can aid knowledge.
Madame Bello, who is a retired Permanent Secretary in Lagos State further noted that with the use of TV5 materials, students of French Language will be more proficient in the language and allow students to be more relevant globally because of the duality of language
In his submission at the occasion, the Head of Department of French, Dr Femi Babatunde commended TV5 Worldwide for bringing the platform to TASUED, noting that “this pedagogical approach focuses on the oral as well as the use of sound media whether still or moving images, especially dialogues as a starting point for lessons”.
The Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Abayomi Arigbabu, thereafter, urged students to integrate themselves into the use of audiovisual for effective teaching, with an assurance that the University Management will not hesitate in giving full support for the take-off of the project.
