TASUED Students Union VP announced New Closing date for Registration of Inter-Departmental Debate

The Student Union Vice President of Tai Solarin University of Education, Com. Vivian Nwakon Yesterday announced the February 28th, 2019 as the new closing date for Registration of the 2019 Inter-Departmental Champion League Debate in an interview with The OWL Campus Media correspondent.

It should recall last year before the commencement of the Academic Staff Union of Universities ASUU 3 MONTH STRIKE, The Office of the student union vice president announced the kick off of the first of its kind inter-department debate tagged Speech Quest with the theme: Community and Self Development: The Role of Science Technology, Entrepreneurship and Education.

Objectives of the program include the following: Deepen the community development processes of the country, foster a healthy relationship through dialogue, Enhance academic research, learning, public speaking and stimulate self-esteem among students, learn to say the right thing at the right time and to inculcate the spirit of fairness in the youth among others.

Speaking to our reporter, the vice president, Com. Vivian Nwakon, said, “our mission is to ensure that dialogue and the exchange of ideas reign supreme in our quest for community development”, adding that, “this show seeks to gather students to debate on topics that enhances the deepening of our lifestyle and to help foster and set up development agenda for the on ourselves and every environment we found ourselves”

“We believe that exposing our students to extra curricula activities through the organization of seminars, debates, workshops and other off-the classroom academic programmes, will help prepare students and youths adequately to face contemporary socio-economic challenges” she said.

She concluded the interview by pleading to all college, departmental Vice president and President to believe that this Speech Quest is everyone dream and the success lies on the participation of all the departments.

Registration Fee : 5,000

Each department is to provide five student to represent their development.
