TASUED RADIO – In fulfillment of the desire to creatively improve teaching and learning at the Tai Solarin University of Education Ijagun Ogun State, the management of the institution has formally launched a radio studio to enhance the technical skills of its students.
The studio would expose students to a new dimension of learning as lecturers can simply record short radio programs which could serve as a learning material for students.
The Launch was part of the activities outlined to commemorate the Vice Chancellor, Prof Abayomi Arigbabu One year in Office.
While giving a status report of the institution, Prof Arigbabu revealed that in the last year, the university has recorded great achievements in the area of information technology as the management recently established an innovation Hub where technological ideas are developed and commercialized to generate revenue for university and other stakeholders
The IT Hub he said, enables young software developers gain access to mentorship, networking and collaborations with private IT Firms.
He disclosed that the institution now has a printing press, a 24 hours alternative source of energy and wireless internet network which covers all parts of the campus.
Speaking on other projects, the VC attested to the completion of “TASUED Light up” project which has boosted the security and aesthetic appeal of the University.
On Staff development, Prof Arigbabu said the institution is witnessing staff growth and there is an increase in the number of PHD holders among the academic staff. However, he admitted that the current staff to student ratio still falls below the standard recommended by the National Universities Commission.
