TASUED HOLDS TRAINING FOR SECURITY PERSONNEL

In its continuous effort to ensure safety of lives and property on campus and to align with the current global practices, the University Management recently organised a week-long training for members of its Security Unit.

The Vice Chancellor, Prof. Abayomi Arigbabu while declaring the training open, charged the University’s security personnel to be more professional and as well be alive to their responsibilities, especially now when terrorism, kidnapping and rituals are bedevilling the country.

He promised that the Management is committed to continous training and retraining of its men in order for them to discharge their duties professionally.

He further disclosed that the era of indiscipline was over, hence, all hands must be on deck to ensure that security apparatus on campus is strengthened.

While delivering a paper titled: “Professionalisation of TASUED Security”, the Chief Security Officer of the University, Mr. Ola Azeez thanked the University Management for the opportunity given to its personnel for the training opportunity at this point in time, which he noted, will further enhance professionalism.

Mr. Ola Azeez further disclosed that the mission of the training exercise was aimed at equipping the security personnel with modern techniques in discharging their duties, he noted.

Other speakers at the event include the Head of Legal Unit, Mr. Olalade Ogunbanjo; Head of the Welfare Unit, Col. Ogundile(Rtd); Students Affairs Officer, Mr. Lukman Adesanya; Deputy Registrar (Establishments); Mr. Tade Adenugba; Deputy Registrar (Centre for Human Rights and Gender Education), Mr. Dapo Oke and a hosts of others.
