The Vice Chancellor, Prof Arigbabu Abayomi on behalf of the university management honor the leadership of the students union of Tai Solarin University of Education an excellence awards, following their sterling performance at the just concluded 2019 Students Union Leadership Training For Union leaders at the NSCDC training ground, Oke Mosan, Abeokuta.
At the last day of the three-days leadership training sponsored by the University Management with the Theme: Evolving effective and efficient Generational Leadership, the university Vice Chancellor introduced the first of it kind Excellence Awards and announced the Student Union President, Senator Olamide Adeboun, Senate President, Dist. Senator Faranye Abiodun, Deputy Senate President, Dist. Senator Oduloye Folorunsho, Director of Transportation, Senator Abiodun Matthew, Chief Whip, Senator Salami Tijani, the Clerk, Senator Ajayi Olayinka in recognition and appreciation for their contributions to the development of the students Unionism in Tasued.
In the speech of the Vice Chancellor during the presentation of the awards, he said, the university management established this award to recognized Students Union Leaders that have participated in the leadership training on three consecutive occasions and put all of this lectures into use in reality.

The Students of Tai Solarin University of Education laud the Students Union Body and the university management for their tried effort over the first peaceful E-test ever conducted in University.
After the E-test conducted on Friday, the correspondent of The OWL Campus Media engaged some students of the university.
A 300level student of English Department, Adekunle Tobiloba, lauded the effort of the Students Union. “I have been in this university for 3 years now this will be the first time I will feel the presence of the student union body give much to the cause of the students.” “The student union effort on this year e-test was amazed”
Joy Udoh from Chemistry department 200L she said, we can’t take away the stress of e-test in this university but with the presence of the student union and the university management this session e-test was high coordinated despite the trouble that came with it.
Kemi Onabanjo, 300L Business Education, “the tiredness effort of the Students Union President and his team give change my mentality toward student Unionism in this university, I don’t believe they can stay with the student throughout the e-test.”
“When I see them on Monday doing the 300 Level E-test i don’t see their availability to the end of all the E-test.”
No matter how much can be giving to the cause of human race, satisfaction can never be meant 100 percent. Despite all praise giving to the Students Union some student still feel they’ve not done enough.
Helen Adeyemi, 100 Level Economics department,“the union tried but I think they have not done enough.” “They should have dialog with the management on the issue of the University Portal to make things easy on the student”.

This session E-test stress was properly managed despite the pressure the University Portal gave the students, the Students Union played maturity to manage the balance between the university and the student without causing and unrest in the university.
Hon. Francis Gift of COSMAS Legislative arm (Constituency III) disclosed his interest towards the Seat of the Speaker of the House of College of Social and Management Science students association in the next coming Union election.
His intension was know when he was sharing his experience on student Unionism in Tasued during an interview with the OWL Campus Media correspondents.
He said losing election in Tai Solarin University of Education will almost forever render anyone useless if the person dose not have a backup plan for his aim for service to humanity.

The Student Union President of Tai Solarin University of Education, Senator Olamide Adeboun yesterday pronounced the appointment of Barrister Akinlolu Moses as the 11th Chief Justice of the judicial arm of the students union.
The appointment of the chief judge follows the Students’ House of Senate intense scrutinization, considerations, ratification and approval of the list submitted by the President of the members of the judicial arm at the plenary special session held on Thursday 21st February, 2019.
Sen. Adeboun further reiterate the sanctity of the Students’ Judicial Arm as a very important arm in the running of the Students’ Union. The existence of the arm shall serve as a watchdog and for checks and balances of the activities of the Central Executive Council and the Students’ House of Senate.
While the executive shall continue to pledge its complete obedience and respect to the provisions of the Students’ Union Constitution (2007 as amended) – we urge that the Judicial Council be prudent and impartial in her interpretations of our constitution and passage of judgements.
The President importantly ask the Chief Justice to uphold the essential beauties of the Judicial Arm as rightly stipulated in the constitution.
Additionally, the Chief Justice should be assured of absolute cooperation, support and frequent communication(as necessary) from the executive arm of our Union and I trust that the Students’ House of Senate will do in similar regards.
In conclusion , the President of the Students’ Union congratulate the Chief Justice on this appointment, wishes him all the best and nice stay in the office. Hearty congratulations!
The 2019 General Election aroma is still on as some dramatic scenario are unfolding, some Sitting Senator of the republic of Nigeria are losing their seat.
In the early hour of today, Hon. Francis Gift of COSMAS Legislative arm (Constituency III) took a joke to his WhatsApp status using the present saga of the 2019 General Election as the discussion of the day.
He referenced the Saraki situation, said some present Students Union Senators may also lose their seat in the next student union election if they fail to learn from this 2019 General Election.
He listed Senator Jimcrus from COHUM Consituency 2, Senator Otitoju Daniel from COSMAS Consituency 2 and Senator Bamidele COHUM from Consituency 2 who he believes if they don’t strategies towards the Student Union Election they may likely not return to the Senate House.
Senator Ifedayo replied to this discussion on his status, losing his seat is never an option for him as the election is a done deal already.
Senate President Bukola Saraki will not return to the Senate in June 2019, as he has lost the Kwara Central Senatorial District election to Ibrahim Oloriegbe of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
According to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Saraki, who ran on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), lost out in each of the four local governments in the district: Ilorin South, Ilorin West, Ilorin East and Asa.
The Vice Chancellor of the University, Prof. Abayomi Arigbabu has advocated for the development of Mathematics among students just as he commended members of the Ogun State Chapter of the Mathematical Association of Nigeria (MAN) for demistifying the study of mathematics in Nigerian schools, thereby, “winning souls” of students to the subject.
He made this assertion at the 4th Annual State Conference of the Association held on the Campus of Tai Solarin University of Education, Ijagun which had as its theme “Mathematics: The Accurate Solution to National Menace”.
Prof. Arigbabu commended the organisers for their determination to put the conference together. “I commend this group of people for being hardworking, focused and dogged, as well as their perseverance in championing the study of mathematics”, he added.
The Vice Chancellor further noted that the country could only achieve its desired goals by joining the league of developed countries in order to give the study of mathematics its pride of place.
He, however, called on students not to run away from the subject, as mathematics is easy to pass.
In his response at the occasion, the Ogun State Chairman, Mathematical Association of Nigeria, Mr. Joseph Abidemi Bankole commended TASUED Management for giving MAN the opportunity to host this year’s conference in the University.
Others invited guests at the conference were the President of the Mathematical Association of Nigeria, Prof. A.R.T Solarin; Provost, D.S. Adegbenro ICT Polytechnic, Itori, Prof. Olufemi Fatade as well as students from invited schools in Ogun State.
