TASUEDSU THANK THE VICE CHANCELLOR FOR GRANTING PARDON ON THREE WEEKS TP EXTENSION ON STUDENTS WHO MISSED THE TEACHING PRACTICE ORIENTATION
Dear TASUEDITES, you will all recall that at the late hours of yesterday(Wednesday 27th of March, 2019), the Students’ Union made a public broadcast and release, making its position known on the three weeks extension levied on students who missed the attendance of orientation program organized prior the commencement of Teaching Practice Exercise.
Obviously, it is still fresh in our minds that the Students’ Union directed all the affected students not to proceed on partaking in the extension period. We feel it is unjustifiable in any sense to do so. We made our reasons and positions known in the release.
As at that very yesterday, the Students’ Union has prepared a “LETTER OF COMMUNICATION” directed to the University Director of Teaching Practice Exercise, a letter we planned to submit at the early hours of today. In the letter, we made our same position glaring that students will not proceed on the extension and we appeal for a cancellation of the decision.
As a civil Students’ Union we are, that is not resting on its hoax, we have since yesterday reaching to our dear Vice Chancellor reporting the situation and registering our displeasure in regards.
The Vice-Chancellor who is officially out of the country on important assignments took pains (considering the hard flow of communication/inter-country dial), to reach out to us swiftly as possible and communicate the decision of granting pardon and waver on the decision. It gladdens our hearts that no students will have to proceed on another extension.
The Students’ Union led by Sen Olamide Adeboun appreciate so much and thank the Vice Chancellor immensely.
The Students’ Union thank other management team and the Teaching Practice board too. They have all been understanding and listening.
Our civil and visionary nature of addressing students challenges has keep giving us victory. We thank the entire students for their supports, cooperation and understanding at all times.
Emancipation Era is succeeding, we have succeeded.
Thanks and God bless our Union.

The Student Union Executives of Tai Solarin University of Education, today reject the decision of the University Teaching Practice Board of levied another three weeks teaching practice extension on some students.
According to the board is because the students did not attend the Teaching Practice Orientation Programme held prior before the commencement of the exercise.
The Students’ Union understand that it is ideal for students to attend the Orientation exercise as organised by the Teaching Practice Board targeted at and with the aim of achieving a well coordinated exercise for perfect delivery of teaching-learning process in their respective schools of practice.
Students had a preliminary knowledge (as taught) on the basics and needful conduct, morally and professionally before been certified as a student to proceed on Teaching Practice. The Orientation Exercise is an additional feat to complement that lesson and aide students conduct in their respective schools of practice.
Teaching Practice is over and students have been supervised by respective supervisors. This exercise lasted for six(6) good months. Students who failed to deliver the subject matter as expected (probably as a result of not having proper orientation), maybe professionally or on moral conduct should be left in the hands of the distinguish supervisors to decide in all fairness, and another extension should not be a punishment.
In a public post signed by the president said The Students’ Union reject this, and thus state categorically that students should not proceed on the three weeks extension.
“We sees it as a pure injustice and unfairness. We urge the Board to be considerate and understanding.”
