    Full text of TASUEDSU Easter message to Tasuedites

    Tai Solarin University of Education Students Union has felicitated with Tasuedites most especially the Christians as they celebrate this year’s Easter, urging them to be prepared and willing to make sacrifices for greater unity, peace and progress in our beloved university.

    The Students Union President Senator Olamide Adeboun, according to an Easter message personally signed by him, called on Nigerians to seize the opportunity of the Easter holiday to reflect deeply on what more they need to do as a student, to ensure that the process of the University lies in the sacrifice of every individual as the university continues to move towards a better future.

    TASUEDSU WISHES TASUEDITES HAPPY EASTER CELEBRATION – URGES ALL TO IMBIBE THE SPIRIT OF SACRIFICES ESTABLISHED BY JESUS

    Sen Olamide Adeboun led leadership of the Students’ Union extend a Happy Easter Celebration wishes to all TASUEDITES.

    The teachings, events, preoccupations, and engagements of Jesus Christ comes with deep sacrifices and services to the people of Israel. Jesus devoted his life for continued sustainability of the humanity and continued livelihood for the believers of Christ.

    He ensured his living is hugely impactful and essential in the hearts of all – thus his resurrection is practically inevitable.

    Jesus love all and he is loved by many as a result of his hard earned sweat and sacrificial strides for everyone.

    Today and all days, we remember the services Jesus devoted his lifetime for. We have reasons to celebrate because he has been an integral tool in having a sane society and a life full of rightful guiding and mentorship.

    The leadership of the university students’ union extend warm easter greetings to all TASUEDITES and ask them to imbibe the teachings and spirit of sacrifices established by Jesus.

    We also use this period to pray for peace in the university community. We pray for continued progress and development in our university and personal lives.

    As we celebrate, we urge us all to be specially prayerful for our university and the entire world.

    The Students’ Union uses this moment to reiterate her commitment to students representation and concern for absolute welfarism.

    May we live to celebrate more of this day on earth. Amen.

    Security is Everybody’s Business – Tasued Student Union President

    The leadership of Tai Solarin University of Education Students’ Union led by Senator Olamide Adeboun circulated a press release following the recent events and happenings in and within the university community, relative to security threats on the university environment and among students of the university.

    The TASUEDSU leadership has been asked to frankly advise students to be extra careful and help security agencies efforts in having a peaceful university environment.

    Last week, there was a case of a “student” been shot dead around one of the university students residential area. This is honestly a sad news for everyone.
    Under whatever guise, the university management and leadership of the Students’ Union totally condemn the happening and share distress and dissatisfaction to it.

    With that foregoing, the security unit of the university has been playing active roles and concerns in ensuring perpetrators are apprehended and such event do not repeat itself – but they have strongly ask the Students’ Union to speak with the students to help them in the process of bringing lasting peace to the university.

    This, they have sought by students promptly reporting any security information, observation and needful tips to the security unit of the university or the leadership of the Union.

    Students should reliably note that any information (security-wise) provided or given will be treated very classified and maturely without exposing the source of the information.

    Security tips involves high level of classification and secrecy.

    This will help us, provide safety and the peace of the general public.

    The Students’ Union shall continue to do her best in the service of the students and in her absolute welfarism.

    The current campaign to have the best innovative sport community in Tai Solarin University of Education may not be over just yet but College of Specialised and Professional Education Students Association, COSPEDSA are already looking forward to standout as they launched their first ever college football jersey.

    The college have become the first college to launch a new football jersey in recent time as they set a record.

    The COSPEDSA president, Adigun Akorede Rasheedsaid: “Our kit isn’t just something we wear to play, it’s part of who we are as team, we want the team to feel immensely proud when pulling on the jersey to play, it means more to us than you could even imagine; after all, COSPEDSA Football Team is like no other.

    “I have no doubt that our students will love the new jersey, and will be pride to see their college play with it anytime.”

    The specch quest is an inter-departmental debate organize by Tai Solarin University of Education Students Union Vice-President for the Twenty-Five(25) departments on campus but presently only Eighteen (23) departments have registered so far and we hope other departments will join prior the commencement of this debate because prizes are available for the winners…

    The anticipation for the speech quest has taken another dimension as the representatives from Agricultural Science department and Political Science department engaged each other in a constructive manner on WhatsApp group recently.

    The WhatsApp battle started with a post from one of the representative of Political Science department titled “POLITICS DETERMINES EVERYTHING THAT EXIST IN THE UNIVERSE”.

    ” Are you trying to equate Agriculture with life? Have you ever heard about “THE STATE OF NATURE” how can you live without the existence of a government? How can your farm products earn you cool cash without the existence of a government???
    Just anticipate for the department that’s gonna come out first-POLITICAL SCIENCE👌👌✌✌”

    In the STATE OF NATURE, i.e when there was no government, men live at the expense of others. Only those who are mighty controls the day, enslave the weak people and even kill them…How can agriculture survive when there’s no security? Why are farmers seeking government intervention on Herdsmen phenomenal?…

    This doesn’t go down well with the representative of Agricultural Science department who fire back with “NO AGRICULTURE, NO LIFE” and the twos tackled each other constructively.

    Tell me,when their was no introduction to government society those not exist!!!
    Believe me or not….agriculture science is the paramount course u will ever study n practice….we are vocational,we are technicians,we are scientist,we are economics….finally,we are life,the only course that study both plant n animal life……

    This shows the high level of preparedness from these representatives for the SPEECH QUEST 2019.

    TASUEDSU Senate President Constitute Committees For 6TH South West Parliamentary Summit and Awards Night

    The leadership of the Students House of Senate, Tai Solarin University of Education, Senator Faranye Abiodun announced 27 man committee for the 6th SouthWest Parliamentary Summit and the 1st ever awards night.

    In a broadcast that was made available to the public, the Senator Faranye said, union leaders have been confronted with the problem of how to manage their academic activities with other social and political activities while on campus and after graduation as this year summit will focuses on helping them to create balance.

    “To enhance students’ understanding of the Parliamentary system of government so that students union leaders become more informed and active citizens”

    He further said, the summit will made available a workable knowledge of Parliamentary practices and procedures particularly the legislative process and the role of an elected Member of Parliament
    Understand the importance of being an informed and active citizen, including the avenues available to influence the Parliamentary decision making process (e.g. elected member, legislation, petitions)
    Develop skills in public speaking, leadership and debate

    “Appreciate the contribution of differing views and perspectives to Parliamentary debate and how those debates inform legislative and policy outcomes for the community”

    Tertiary institutions from across the south west state are invited to participate with student selection based on a process of nomination from their various union leaders.

    He further give clarity explanation on why the large number of committee members arise, in his voice he said, “it was as a result of short period available for all necessary preparations for the summit as we all know that second semester is very short , as such there is need for enough capable hands to carry out the task ahead of us”

    The Students’ Union Director of Transportation, Senator Abiodun Matthew (BIG-SHOW) today pick up Bike to easy transportation system for students on campus.

    Senator Abiodun during his campaign promised to do anything in his power to make transportation system of the University convenient and accessible for the students, make him tagged is Manifestoes ‘Easy Moment’.

    In a video trending on Instagram, shows that he took up a bike to help students who has Exams to get to their exam location on time.

    This video encourage students to charge him to also use Keke Maruwa(Tricycle) to prove how good his driving skill.

    TASUEDFinest Launches Inter-Hostel Football League

    In a bid to grow collegiate sports in Nigeria, TasuedFinest in collaboration with the Office of the Sport Director Student Union TASUED, is pleased to announce to the entire students the forthcoming Inter-Hostel Football League (iHFL) competition. The contest is slated to kick off Saturday 18th of May, 2019.

    The league will commence with students hostel that register and fit in to the requirements of the league for reasons of proximity and effective administration.

    According to the Creative Lead, The OWL Campus Media Mr. Toyosola Amuludn, iHFL has been designed for the purpose of youth development in TASUED through sports and build a strong ecosystem of young, home-grown football talents that may become invaluable for future national engagement.

    iHFL is designed to engage and showcase exciting sporting talents in Tasued. The quest to establish this platform was borne out of the great desire to engage TASUEDITES. Presently, a significant number of this set of students are in the every of our society spread across the country. These talents must be identified and nurtured for sustainability,” Comr. Ayodeji Ayinde (Sport Director TASUEDSU) said.

    The maiden edition of iHFL is an annual 7 aside football game contest with hostels within the university community going head-to-head for the ultimate prize. 2019 Edition is in memory of Lasisi Olawale aka Zigima, student of History and Diplomatic Studies got killed in a shoot-out by Policemen that invaded the school in July 26, 2011. Zigima was an active sportsman on campus before his death.

    In lieu of that, all intending hostels are implored to pick up their form at the OWL House Photo Studio, cooperative building upstairs, TASUED campus for a fee of four thousand naira (#4000). Failure to do so will only render such hostel ineligible.

    Senator representing COHUM Constituency II, Senator Ifedayo Moradeyo, recently took to his WhatsApp Platform to implore the entire student’s of Tai Solarin University of Education to be of good conduct ahead of the Student’s Union election which is scheduled to hold in second semester.

    Senator Ifedayo, in his post, appealed to aspirants and electorates alike to endeavor to do due diligence in their conducts and avoid frivolities during the conduct of the poll.

    In his advice to the aspirant, he said all aspirant should be prepared for the task ahead has lot of propaganda will be thrown at them. In his word, ‘Before you obtain that form to contest, how stick is your skin’. ‘If you ain’t got a thick skin, if you are too emotional, Abeg no contest O! We don’t want you to commit!.

    He further stressed that, all aspirant should be ready for betrayal as those you trust and share deep secrets with may campaign against you with those secrets.

    He further advised, on a final note, aspirants to be patient, proactive and deliver on their promises. In his word: “Don’t promise us what are not realistic, because we are going to hold you responsible for your promises sooner or later”.
