OPEN-LETTER TO THE NEW IPCTASUED EXECUTIVES

Solidarity greeting to all penpushers that neither sleep nor slumber to inform, reform, educate and entertain the masses at large.

I don’t like to write like an alumni of National Open University but Martin Luther King said “Our lives begin to end the day we become silent about things that matter”.

In lieu of the above quote, I deem it as a matter of urgency and necessity to write to the new executives of Independent Press Council, Tai Solarin University of Education (IPCTASUED) 2019/2020 pen year.

I will start by congratulating you because many we’re called but few are chosen. I want you to know leadership is tantamount to followership. Remember IPC slogan that ‘Togetherness Is Strength’ carried all members along as one indivisible body.

Know that if one fumble, all will stumbled; Teamwork is the key to greatness of the council irrespective of position because the house that raise against itself will not stand.

Dear new executives, you need to lead by example and correct others with love. Be dedicated and up-to-date!

I can say categorically that the Press and the Government shouldn’t be intimate.
IPCTASUED should serve as a watchdog between the school management, TASUEDSU and TASUEDites.

The new executives need to restore the zeal of campus journalism in every members of the council.

Let the ink begin to flow on: daily news update, articles, editorial review, opinion poll, columns, investigative-journalism, photo-journalism… etc.

I won’t lie to you that you’re appointed at a critical time in which you need to redeem the aims and objectives of Ipctasued to inform, reform, educate and entertain with prompt objectivity.

I will be an ingrate if I fail to appreciate the immediate past executives of 2018/19 pen year for their tenacity, although to whom much is given much is expected. Kudos!

Permit me to pause because a word is enough for the wise.

    Yours in pen,
    ACTIVIST-PEN…

#TasuedDecides2019: TASUEDSU Election tears Team-Emacipation apart

    0

“Politics is the art of looking for trouble, finding it everywhere, diagnosing it incorrectly and applying the wrong remedies”- Grouch Max.

The forthcoming TASUEDSU 2019/2020 election has shown that no permanent friends/enemies in politics but only permanent interest.

The choice of candidates especially presidential aspirants for 2019/2020 TASUEDSU election has tear the camp of Team-Emacipation apart; all executives are supporting and canvassing for their ‘anointed candidates ‘ both online and offline restlessly.

It’s not new for incumbent government to campaign for incoming administration but the game of politics now is that all incumbent TASUEDSU executives (TEAM-EMACIPATION) are using their social media influence and campus popularity to campaign desperately for their anointed aspirant.

It’s now a routine in TASUED unionism that every outgoing executive must canvass for incoming anointed candidates for the sake of their various CAUCUSES even at the detriment of TASUEDites interest!

The truth is that all comrades in TASUED unionism belong to different caucuses and the fact remains that no Aspirant can emerge without affiliating with a caucus.

It’s high time Tasuedites open their eyes and vote wisely for a credible candidate irrespective of caucus.

TASUEDITES should separate politics from unionism this time around by not allowing imposition of candidates.

Let each aspirant present his/her manifesto and ask them sensible questions to determine their capabilities…

#TasuedDecides2019 – LAS Vs FABULOUS, Who will be the 12th TASUED Students Union President

    0

Tai Solarin University of Education Students Union (TASUEDSU) Central Executives Council (CEC) election for the past few years has being witnessing two major leading presidential aspirants :

    2015/16 AJE vs Folaranmi
    2016/17 UBUNTU Vs Setiok
    2017/18 BAMIDELE Vs Ujama
    2018/19 DRIZZY Vs Versatile
    2019/20 LAS Vs FABULOUS

If election is only win based on popularity many candidates will not emerge. Although popularity is one of the major winning factor in an election but it shouldn’t be capitalized on alone as the only campaign strategy.

2019/2020 TASUEDSU CEC election is at the corner the two leading presidential aspirants has begin “aggressive -campaign”.

“So my counterpart blocked me from viewing his status. This is unionism not politics. It shouldn’t be a do or die affair ” Soneye Abudul Azeez(LAS)

“Achievements lá fí mô comrade. Show us the achievements that you can boast of… ” Mustapher Sanni (FABULOUS)

It’s crystal clear that this year debate/Manifesto is going to be tough as both aspirants are sitting Senator in the incumbent Emancipation Regime.

TASUEDites are the ones to decide the winner between FABULOUS Vs LAS….
