Biology Department wins 2019 Speech Quest Championship, defeated 26 other Department

The department of Biology won the 2019 Inter-Departmental Debating Championship, tagged Speech Quest defeated 26 other Department that participated in the competition.

The championship, which is the first of it kind in the History of Tai Solarin University of Education, held between 27 May to May 30, 2019, has in register 137 Participant from 27 Department, 5 College within the university.

The Speech Quest was put together by the Office of the Vice president, Students Union President, Comr. Vivian Nwankwo see the Department of Biology who lead the race with 87 points while the department of English Language came second with 78 points, and the department of Economics, took the third position with 76 points.

The theme was THE INFLUENCE OF COMMUNITY ON SELF DEVELOPMENT: THE ROLE OF EDUCATION, ENTREPRENEURSHIP, SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY.

Welcoming the participating the Vice President of the Students Union, Comr Vivian Nwankwo said that the event is for all students of the Tasued to integrate and interact on a topical issue trending in the society.

2nd Position – Team English
“We believe that exposing our students to extra curricula activities through the organization of seminars, debates, workshops and other off-the classroom academic programmes, will help prepare students and youths adequately to face contemporary socio-economic challenges” she said.
The Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) has outlined seventeen goals to be achieved by 2030, and if actualized, the developed and developing world will be at par for socio-economic development.
