In a recent development at Tai Solarin University of Education (TASUED), the Students Union Government (SUG) has urged all incoming 100-level students to pause further school fee payments due to a sudden hike in fees. The announcement, dated 3rd October 2024, came in a letter from the Office of the President of the SUG, under the leadership of Team Visionary ’24.

The SUG expressed concern over the fee adjustment, which has caused considerable distress among both students and their families. The letter revealed that the university management implemented the fee hike without prior consultation, prompting widespread discontent.

To address the issue, the SUG has called on the university administration to immediately take down the school fee payment option on the university portal until the matter is resolved. The union emphasized its commitment to ensuring that students’ concerns are addressed and assured that they are negotiating with the school authorities to reverse the hike.

The Students Union has asked for patience and solidarity from the students, promising to keep them informed about the progress of the negotiations. The letter was signed by the Central Executive Council, Students House of Senate, and All College Presidents.
