...as Centre for External Programmes holds matriculation ceremony
The Vice Chancellor of Tai Solarin University of Education, Ijagun, Ogun State, Prof. Abayomi Arigbabu has called on the Ogun State Government to collaborate with TASUED in stemming the rot in the educational sector and to as well make education the fulcrum of this present administration.
He made this remarks during the 2018/ 2019 matriculation exercise for part time students of the Centre for Part – Time and Preliminary Studies (CEPPS) of the University.
He noted that TASUED being the premier and preferred University of Education of the 21st century was ready to partner the State Government in organising continuing professional refresher course for teachers in order to rebuild the ailing school system.
Prof. Arigbabu further called on the State Government to improve the funding of institutions of higher learning in the State through prompt release of subventions and funding of capital projects in tertiary institutions.
While congratulating the matriculating students, the Vice Chancellor advised them to exhibit good behaviour and sound character because there is severe punishments for all forms of anti-social behaviours.
The Vice Chancellor, however, reminded the new students to see their educational pursuits in TASUED as a prerequisite for upward movement towards effective and efficient generational leadership in the society.
Prof. Arigbabu further disclosed that the University’s special curricula give unique opportunities for students to be well grounded in curriculum contents, pedagogy in chosen teaching subjects and high level of computer literacy which makes students of the institution a 21st Century compliant and technologically-driven educators.
The oath of allegiance was then administered by the Ag. Registrar, Mr. Babatunde Oduwole.
Other members of the Management team at the ceremony includes the Deputy Vice Chancellor, Prof. Oluwole Banjo, the Bursar, Mr. Ifeoluwa Odusanya and the University Librarian, Mrs. Sola Oyesiku.
