The Tai Solarin University of Education (TASUED) community has a new Students’ Union Government (SUG) president! In a keenly contested election held today, Abidakun Tomide Micheal, popularly known as tommygrin, clinched the coveted position with 64.63% votes.
The election, which witnessed a high turnout of students, showcased the strength of campus democracy as candidates campaigned vigorously on their manifestos, highlighting critical issues such as improved welfare, better representation, and enhanced facilities for students.
Abidakun Tomide, a 400-level student from the Department of Computer Science, ran on a platform of “redefining leadership and promoting inclusivity. His victory has been celebrated by supporters across the campus, marking the start of a new era for TASUED students.
In his speech, Abidakun Tomide, expressed gratitude to the student body, saying,
“This victory is not mine alone but for every student who believes in the possibility of a better TASUED. I am committed to delivering on my promises and ensuring that our voices are heard.”

The newly elected SUG executives are set to take office officially, where they will begin implementing their policies to address students’ needs and concerns.
