The Provost of the Institution’s Postgraduate College, Professor Olufemi Fatade, has been honored with a prestigious Fellowship from the Mathematical Association of Nigeria (MAN). The award ceremony took place at the National Teachers’ Institute (NTI) headquarters in Kaduna State, drawing the attendance of distinguished scholars in the field of mathematics.
During the ceremony, the leadership of the Mathematical Association of Nigeria emphasized that this recognition is a testament to Professor Fatade’s outstanding contributions to the field of mathematics. The award celebrates educators who have excelled in their respective disciplines, inspiring others within the academic community. MAN reaffirmed its commitment to promoting the quality of mathematics education and encouraging young Nigerians to develop an interest in the subject, aiming to foster functional literacy in mathematics nationwide.
Professor Fatade, a noted mathematician, has had a distinguished career serving the state and advancing mathematical education. His past roles include serving as the Rector of D.S. Adegbenro ICT Polytechnic in Itori, Ogun State, and as the former Director of the Information and Communications Technology (ICT) department at Tai Solarin University of Education (TASUED).
In recognition of Professor Fatade’s achievements, the Vice-Chancellor of the university, Professor Oluwole Banjo, expressed his congratulations, describing him as “an erudite scholar and a computer guru.” Professor Banjo encouraged Professor Fatade to continue his exceptional work, which continues to bring honor to the university and serves as an inspiration to educators and students alike.
