TASUED Alumnus Won N600,000 NYSC- WEMA Bank Grant

On Thursday, 16th November 2023, Emmanuella Azegb, an Economics graduate from Tai Solarin University of Education, made headlines by winning the NYSC WEMA Bank (ALAT) Copreneurship Business Plan competition. This prestigious event, held at the NYSC Permanent Orientation Camp in Ipaja, Lagos State, saw Emmanuella taking home a well-deserved monetary prize of N600,000.

The Copreneurship Business Plan competition is an initiative to foster the entrepreneurial spirit among Corps members. It provides a platform for young graduates to showcase their innovative ideas, receive mentorship, and gain valuable business insights. With a focus on promoting creativity and sustainability, this competition is a beacon of opportunity for enterprising youths in Nigeria.

Among the 10 platoons at the NYSC camp, three representatives emerged to participate in this highly competitive event. The participants underwent rigorous training, received mentorship from experienced professionals, and had the opportunity to network with industry leaders. The competition was designed not just to test their business acumen but to prepare them for the challenges of the entrepreneurial world.

Out of 30 students and Corps members tasked with developing a business pitch for their individual enterprises within a tight timeframe of 24 hours, Emmanuella’s vision and determination stood out. She advanced to the semi-finals, securing a spot among the top 10 participants. Her innovative ideas and compelling pitch earned her a place in the final round.
